- John Dewey Purple Circle is a well-established and diverse program for early childhood education on Manhattan's Upper West Side. We are a thirty five year old parent-cooperative that values every family's active participation and community membership. At Purple Circle, we provide children with opportunities for direct experience with materials and the environment. Our teachers make room to support children's strengths and a variety of children's interests.
Letters of acceptance for the 2010/2011 school year will be sent March 8th.
Your response, along with registration forms must be received by March 16. Space and time for ongoing discussions, inquiry and negotiations are given to young children throughout the day. Purple Circle's teachers are nurturing, warm, and highly experienced. Our ratio of teachers to children is outstanding, and our facilities are a real workshop for children's play and active imagination. Purple Circle's small size; approximately 60 families, allows
us to provide an environment that is both intimate and engaging for
young children ages two through six years old. We are open from 8:30
a.m. to 6:00 p.m., five days a week, year round. Purple Circle is
non-sectarian and does not discriminate.
